Self-foaming outdoor polymer
ASA Aero

Low-density printed structures for weight-sensitive outdoor applications.

ASA Aero is a temperature-sensitive self-foaming ASA. Its finished density depends on flow ratio, temperature, speed, walls and geometry, so it must be calibrated for each design.

The engineer’s read.

Match the actual part geometry and service conditions to the grade and test context, not just its family name.

What it brings

ASA Aero is a temperature-sensitive self-foaming ASA. Its finished density depends on flow ratio, temperature, speed, walls and geometry, so it must be calibrated for each design.

Selection verdict

Choose ASA Aero when low mass and outdoor durability matter more than maximum strength or dimensional certainty. Test the actual foamed geometry before committing to a functional load.

Printed properties.

Published product specifications; HDT at 0.45 MPa. Printed density can range about 0.46–0.97 g/cm³ as foaming settings change.

Published test-specimen data is for comparison only. Orientation, conditioning, processing and geometry can change finished-part performance. Heat-deflection temperature is a standardised test, not a continuous-use rating.

Selection logic.

Practical reasons to choose or avoid this material for a specific part.

Advantages

  • Variable low printed density for weight-sensitive designs
  • ASA-family UV and weather resistance
  • Matte finish suited to finishing and colouring

Watch-outs

  • Published 0.99 g/cm³ is filament density, not guaranteed printed-part density
  • Humidity and processing strongly affect foaming
  • Lower HDT than standard ASA (85°C versus 100°C)
